Need for Food Banks Rise

Foodbanks a reporting a massive increase in usage since last year. Iain Duncan Smith seems to think that the rise in food bank Usage is down to people “Wanting free handouts”. How utterly ridiculous! The reason people use food banks is because they have no other choice. It is because they cannot afford to either feed themselves or their families. In a country, supposedly one of the wealthiest nations on the planet, this situation is both wrong and morally corrupt!

George Osbourne during his Spending review last week also cut more from the poorest hit in our society, whilst at the same time INCREASING foreign aid. Don’t get me wrong, I believe that we should help those nations who require help, but when you are one of those nations, shouldn’t we be concentrating on helping OUR poorest?

It appears that Cameron, Osborne and cronies have no idea what it is really like for those at the sharp end of the stick. They have never had to live off measly earnings, they have multimillion pound bank accounts, and to top it off, they are able to claim expenses that would feed the average family for YEARS.

Now I personally don’t claim to be poor, but even I have to resort to selling items just so I can make ends meet at the end of the month. It’s about time these idiots came down from their ivory towers and lived like us mere mortals for a while, and then see if they think their cuts are fair!

(By the way, would anyone like to buy an electric drum kit? 😉 )
